Professional Experience

I was most recently employed as a grade 3-8 Art Teacher at Williston Central School (2005-16).  I was responsible for designing projects that were tied to the curriculum, grading, ordering supplies, working with a budget, and classroom management or elementary and middle school students.  I served on the technology as well as the building and grounds committees.  I also worked as an art teacher at the Center For Technology – Essex (2005-06) and as a long term substitute art teacher for Colchester Middle School (2006-07) after completing the TAP program in 2005.  I have worked at Hallgren, Restifo, and Loop Architects in Erie, Pennsylvania from 1993-1999 and Freeman French Freeman in Burlington, Vermont from 2002-2004.  I served a tour of duty with the US Peace Corps between jobs in PA and VT.  I served with my husband in Papua New Guinea (PNG) as a Community Development Advisor providing technical support to a grassroots environmental organization strengthening its programs, leadership, and effectiveness where I responsible for the programming and construction drawings for a housing project, two churches, and several classrooms.


I am a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Master of Architecture degree.  I have studied at Penn State University and overseas in Harare, Zimbabwe, Africa.  I hold a VT HQT level 2 teaching license with a K-12 Art endorsement.  I am currently pursuing my National Board Certification.


I was elected to serve on the Red Clover Book committee.  I am a volunteer / artist in residence at DAML and Westford Libraries.  I am the Director of Creative Development with Create It Lab which is a STEAM based non-profit in VT.  I serve on the board of directors for the TAP (Teacher Apprentice Program) in VT.  I am a Level 2 Ski Instructor.  I taught skiing and snowboarding at Peek’n Peak Resort in Clymer, NY (1993-99).
